Advisor — Online Higher Education | AI and Cybersecurity Curriculum Specialist

Professor Tarek Gaber is a senior academic leader with over 25 years of experience in higher education since 1999. His career spans the UK, Europe, and the Middle East, with expertise in programme leadership, online curriculum development, and digital learning design in AI, Cybersecurity, and Software Engineering.

Professor Gaber holds a PhD in Computer Science (Cybersecurity) from the University of Manchester, UK. His academic appointments have included Senior Lecturer at the University of Salford, UK; Professor at Suez Canal University, Egypt; Senior Researcher at VSB–Technical University of Ostrava, Czech Republic; and Honorary Lecturer at the University of Liverpool, contributing to the university’s online MSc programmes in Cyber Security and AI.

His core expertise includes:

Designing and leading fully online and blended learning programmes in AI, Cybersecurity, and Software Engineering

Accreditation and quality assurance under UK frameworks (QAA, Ofqual)

Digital learning strategies for online student engagement, retention, and employability

Supervising undergraduate final-year projects, MSc dissertations, and PhD research students across AI, Cybersecurity, and Software Engineering fields

Professor Gaber has developed and led UK-accredited programmes including MSc Cyber Security and Computer Science Foundation Year. His teaching portfolio covers a wide range of computer science courses including Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, and Software Engineering.

He is a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy (HEA) and an IEEE Senior Member, bringing a balance of academic rigor and hands-on digital learning design to online higher education providers.
